Description
Castern Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, featuring hammer-dressed ashlar quoins and ashlar dressings, with a clay tile roof, an ashlar ridge, and an integral end stack. The building has a T-shaped plan, with a main three-room range and a rear extension that houses the staircase. It stands two storeys high and has a gable-lit attic. There are three mullioned windows with casements, all having two lights except for the ground floor center window, which has three lights. The ground floor windows have plain mullions, while the first-floor windows have chamfered surrounds. To the right of the center is a double-leaved half-glazed door with a flat hood.
