Description
This summerhouse, built around 1919, is located approximately 70 yards north of Hethpool House. It is constructed of ashlar and random rubble, topped with a Scottish slate roof, and showcases the Arts-and-Crafts style.
The structure is octagonal in shape, featuring a cyma-recta moulded edge at the base. On the north side, there is a round-headed door made of planks and muntins. The keystone above the door is intricately carved with an oak leaf, a crown, and a cat. Small round windows are present on the flanking walls, while the remaining five sides are fitted with large 12-pane sash windows.
The roof is steeply pitched and pyramidal, with swept eaves, and is topped with a copper vane shaped like a galleon.
