Description
This building is a house located opposite Stonebeck Gate, likely dating from the early 19th century. It was originally two cottages that have since been combined into one dwelling. The exterior features coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone and a pantiled roof with stone copings, kneelers, and chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high with three wide bays that are slightly irregular.
There is a four-panel door situated between the two right bays, while the left side has a blocked doorway that now contains a window. Most of the windows are 20th-century four-pane sashes, primarily positioned under heavy tooled lintels, except for two early 19th-century sashes on the left and another at the centre of the first floor. The eaves are stepped, and there are corniced chimneys at both ends and off centre. The double roll-moulded kneelers add to the architectural detail.
This building is included for its group value.
