Description
Stonebeck Gate Farmhouse, along with an attached cottage and stable, dates from the mid 19th century but may be contemporary with farm buildings dated 1832. The structure is built from coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone, and the roof, which has been replaced with modern concrete tiles, features a stone ridge, copings, and stacks. The building is two storeys high with three wide bays. The farmhouse has a central modern half-glazed door flanked by 19th-century sash windows with vertical bars. The one-bay cottage on the left has similar features. There are end and shared ridge stacks.
To the left is the stable, which was formerly a byre, and it is a single storey with a plain boarded door and two slit vents. The rear elevation includes a central extension with a catslide roof, likely added for dairy use.
Although there have been alterations, this building is included for its group value with the main farmbuilding range.
