Description

The garden walls in front of The Bay Tree, located on Station Road in Robin Hood's Bay, are likely from the mid-19th century. These walls are constructed from finely-coursed sandstone and feature rolled rounded coping. The left wall, which is taller near the house, slopes down at the west end to connect with a lower front wall that has a series of ramps descending the hillside. In the center, there are two gate piers adorned with cornices and pyramidal caps that support a single wrought iron gate, which may be the original. These walls are included for their group value.
