Description
Danesdale Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, with a heightening added in the late 18th century and a 19th-century extension to the right, along with various alterations. It is constructed of dressed sandstone, some of which features herringbone tooling, and has a pantile roof with brick stacks. The building has a through-passage plan and includes later outshuts added at the rear.
The farmhouse is one and a half stories tall, with a one-window front to the left and a two-storey, one-window extension to the right. There is a 20th-century door to the left of the two-storey extension. To the right, there is a four-pane sash window, with an unequal nine-pane sash window above it. On the left side, there is a four-pane sash window beneath a two-light horizontal sliding sash window that has glazing bars. All openings in the extension feature milled keyblock lintels. The gable walls are coped and have kneelers, with end stacks present on the two-storey extension.
