Description
Bridge House and the attached garage is an inn that has been converted into a house and garage, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, with some alterations and extensions made in the 20th century. The building features a front made of dressed sandstone, with coursed rubble on the sides and a pantile roof that has rebuilt brick stacks.
The structure has a central-entry plan and includes a rear service wing that was added later. It is two stories high with a two-window front, and there is a single-storey lean-to garage on the left side. The house door, which is panelled and from the 20th century, is centrally located and flanked by large-pane, horizontal-sliding sash windows with three lights and painted lintels. The first floor has similar windows. The building has end stacks, and the garage features an enlarged opening with a renewed lintel.
On the right gable wall, there is a ground floor window with two lights, each containing 15 panes and iron glazing bars, topped with a thin timber lintel. The property is included for its group value.
