Description
Riverside Farmhouse is a farmhouse and attached cottage, now functioning solely as a farmhouse. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations and extensions in the 20th century. The front is made of sandstone ashlar, while the rear is constructed from squared sandstone. The roof is covered with pantiles and features brick stacks.
The house has a central-staircase plan and is positioned to the left of the original cottage, which has an outshut that was later raised and extended. The building is two stories high with a three-window front. There are two six-panel doors located to the centre left and centre right, both topped with painted flat arches. The ground-floor window at the end right is a tall three-light, small-pane horizontal-sliding sash, also beneath a painted flat arch. The remaining windows are 16-pane sashes with painted keyblock lintels, except for the first-floor window on the right, which is plain. All windows have painted stone sills.
A Phoenix Insurance firemark is located above the door to the left. The building features a moulded eaves cornice and has stacks at both ends and to the right of centre.
