Description

Sinnington Bridge is a bridge built in 1769, as indicated by a sundial on the structure. It is made of dressed sandstone and features a single span with a segmental arch. The upstream side of the arch has raised-and-chamfered voussoirs, while the downstream side has shaped flush voussoirs. Above the arch, there is a plain raised band. The parapet has chamfered coping that slopes towards the center and ends in square-section piers with stepped cornices and shallow pyramidal caps. Notably, the south-west pier does not have a cap but supports a sundial made by Richardson of Helmsley, also dated 1769.
