Description
Town End Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse located on the north side of Village Street in Appleton-le-Moors. It is constructed of squared limestone with sandstone quoins and features a pantile roof, along with one brick and one stone stack. The building has a central staircase plan and is one room deep, with a two-storey rear extension. The front elevation is symmetrical with three windows and two storeys, showcasing raised quoins. The entrance consists of a part-glazed door set within a rusticated surround that includes a channelled keystone and a detached lintel above. The windows are 16-pane sashes in raised surrounds, with the upper centre window featuring a grooved triple keystone. There is a first-floor band, a cavetto-moulded eaves course, and the gables are coped with moulded kneelers and end stacks.
