Description

West View is a former house and post office, dating to the late 18th century with alterations in the 19th century. Constructed of hammer-dressed limestone, it has a pantile roof and brick stacks. The building is arranged around a central stairhall, with a depth of one and a half rooms. The symmetrical front has three windows and features irregular quoins. A central 20th-century half-glazed door sits centrally, flanked by four-pane sash windows with stone sills. All openings have painted, keyed, wedge lintels. A cavetto-moulded eaves cornice runs along the top of the building, and the gables are coped with kneelers and end stacks.
