Description
Bridge End is a house located in Bilsdale Midcable, likely built in the early 18th century and raised in the late 18th century. The building features large herringbone-tooled sandstone at the plinth, with smaller, more regular stonework in the upper courses. It has a pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings, and stacks. The main house is two storeys high with three irregular bays, and there is a one-storey downhouse with an extruded porch on the left. An inserted door can be found in the south wall of the downhouse. The windows are Yorkshire sashes set under extruded, keyed lintels, except for a small fire window on the left. The rear elevation has a modern inserted off-centre door and irregular small casements. A cross-passage door in the right bay has been blocked, and a window has been inserted. Inside, the house features beamed ceilings, a fire beam, and a heck partition in the forehouse. The conservatory at the south end is not considered of special interest.
