Description

Park Gate and the attached barn is a farmhouse, now a private residence, built in 1715, as indicated by the date and initials WCW over the door. The building has undergone significant restoration. It features coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone with ashlar dressings and a porch front, while the barn is made of coursed pecked sandstone. The roofs are pantiled, with stone copings and kneelers, and there are stone stacks, some of which are rendered.

The house is two storeys high and consists of five bays. It has a central gabled porch that includes a four-panel door. Throughout the structure, there are two-light chamfered stone-mullioned windows, which have 20th-century small-paned casements. The eaves of both the porch and the house are coved. The left side features a corniced two-shaft chimney, while the right side has a rendered end chimney. There is a small 20th-century attic window on the left return and a two-light chamfered window on the right return.

At the rear, there is a lean-to dairy extension and a small barn beyond it. The rear elevation includes an inserted glazed door and several small chamfered windows with one or two lights, including two-light windows for the stair and cellar. The interior has not been inspected, and a small front extension is noted as not being of special interest.
