Description
Rosslyn House and The Little Shop is a house with a shop, built in the early to mid-18th century and featuring some alterations. The building is constructed from fine herringbone-tooled coursed sandstone and has a pantiled roof with a stone ridge, copings, and kneelers, along with a brick stack. There is also a rubble outhouse.
The structure is two storeys high and has three bays. On the left side, there are two later 19th-century four-panel doors with low overlights, which are paired in a surround that includes pilasters and a shallow bracketed hood. On the right side, there is a square bay shop window. The first floor features two-light chamfered mullioned windows, which may have been lengthened, and these hold one-bar casements. Above the left-hand door, there is a relief of a ship. The outhouse on the right side is blank except for a boarded door.
The rear elevation displays a blocked fire window, an early blocked small window, and another small original opening that is still in use.
