Description
Mulgrave Cottage is an estate house dating from the third quarter of the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and features Welsh slate roofs with stone copings and squared kneelers. The building consists of two parallel ranges and a taller cross wing. The lower ranges are each two storeys high with three windows; the upper windows are set under small coped gables that break the eaves. The cross wing has two storeys and an attic, with a three-light stone-mullioned window on the first floor, a single light above, and a canted bay below. The other ground-floor windows are also stone mullioned. The right bay of the lower front range contains a four-panel double door with a drip mould over and a single light above. The first-floor windows and those in the bay have stepped chamfered reveals, while the ground-floor windows feature quarter-round mouldings. At the west end, there is an added wood loggia and balcony, with a conservatory located behind. Some of the chimneys are made of stone, while others have been rebuilt in brick.
