Description

This is a row of five terraced cottages located on the east side of High Street, Helmsley, built during the first half of the 19th century. The cottages are constructed from squared coursed sandstone with a pantile roof and brick stacks. They are arranged symmetrically with a facade displaying nine first-floor windows. There are three through passages, which serve the five houses, with the ends being shared. The ground floor features a four-panel door to each of the end entrances, a central half-glazed door flanked by two three-light Yorkshire sash windows. The first floor has three-light Yorkshire sash windows, with four-light Yorkshire sashes above the end entrances. Stone sills and lintels are present throughout. The roof has end and two ridge stacks.
