Description
Knipes Hall is a building that was originally a national school, constructed around 1822, and has since been converted into a house. It features dressed sandstone and a stone slate roof, with brick stacks. The building is single storey and has a symmetrical facade. There is a six-fielded-panel door located under a radial fanlight, which is flanked by engaged Tuscan columns that support fluted friezes and an open pediment. On either side of the door, there are two sash windows with glazing bars, and a broad band runs above the windows. To the right, there is an additional section of wall that includes a blind relieving arch. The building has gable coping, a ridge stack, and a stack that rises through the pitch of the roof at the rear. There is a 20th-century addition that is noted as having no special interest.
