Description
No 18 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a pantile roof with brick stacks. It has two storeys and four windows on the first floor.
On the left side, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door set within a 19th-century pilastered doorcase that has a decorative architrave. This door is flanked by a three-light casement window on the left and a 20th-century shop front on the right. On the right side of the building, there is a central 20th-century garage door, with a two-light Yorkshire sash window to the left and a boarded door to the right. The first floor has four two-light Yorkshire sash windows, each with stone sills and wedge lintels. The roof is swept, featuring a left gable end and ridge stacks. The building is included partly for its group value with other nearby structures.
