Description
The Methodist Chapel and Sunday School, built in 1873 and 1886, is located on High Street in Hinderwell. It features coursed squared stone with Welsh slate roofs, stone copings, kneelers, and finials. The building consists of two parallel ranges facing the road, with the Chapel being taller. Each range has a central round-arched doorway set in a shallow gabled projection, flanked by windows. The design includes raised quoins and a band at the eaves level, interrupted by a circular window above the Sunday school door. The Chapel has a small round-headed window in its gable. The returns of the building have four bays, and all other windows are round-arched, consisting of two round-headed lights with a roundel in the spandrel, set in raised surrounds with alternating blocks on the jambs. There is a low forecourt wall with four gabled gate piers and alternating raised rounded coping stones.
