Description
The Methodist Chapel, built in 1868 and later extended in the 19th century, is constructed from snecked stone with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The chapel has a rectangular plan and features a south elevation with four bays. The central porch is highlighted by a coped gable, moulded kneelers, and a pyramid-on-ball finial. The right side of the porch displays panelled double doors beneath a shaped segmental lintel. There are 12-pane sash windows with segmental heads, and those to the right of the porch have shaped lintels. The gables are coped with moulded kneelers, and the left gable has a reduced stack. The right side of the chapel features a raised oval panel inscribed 'WESLEYAN CHAPEL' along with the date, below a raised quatrefoil with pierced ornament and a pyramid-on-ball gable finial. The rear elevation has similar window designs.
The forecourt walls to the south are topped with gabled coping and feature gabled monolithic piers that support a gate with foliate bars and a looped rail. To the north, the forecourt has a low wall with chamfered coping that carries plain rails, and a gate with scroll-topped stiles.
