Description

This is a 19th-century mile post made of cast iron, located to the south of Port Mulgrave Road in Hinderwell. It features a triangular shape with a chamfered top and a semicircular back plate. The inscription reads: "North Riding of Yorkshire Hinderswell UDC" along with distances to various locations: Whitby 9½, Scarborough 30½, Saltburn 10, Redcar 16, and Guisborough 14.
