FYLINGDALES RAMSDALE NZ 90 SW 11/167 Ramsdale South Farmhouse and attached outbuildings and wall

  • II Farmhouse, early C19, outbuildings possibly C18. Coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone; pantiled roof with stone ridge, chimneys, copings and kneelers. 2 storeys, 3 windows. wide proportions. Central 6-panel door. Flanking 20-pane sashes on both floors and 16-pane sash above door. Gable copings rest on large curved kneelers. Corniced right end stack; left end stack raised in cement. 1-storey, 2-window left outhouse with plain fixed lights. Right barn 1 storey and loft, 3 bays, with lower 4th end bay. Stable doors in centre of left part and in end bay. Boarded loft door to right; and pattern of slit vents. Stepped eaves and block kneelers. Rear shows smaller windows, 1 altered. Stone loft stair at left end, and inserted garage door. Front yard wall to house and left outhouse: 4 courses of large stones, half-round coping; pairs of monolith gate piers at centre and end.
