Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres south-west of Bransdale Mill, dates from the early 19th century and was reroofed in the 20th century. It is constructed from tooled sandstone with finely tooled dressings and features a pantile roof. The barn is single-storey with a three-bay front, showcasing three elliptical arches made of shaped voussoirs supported by square piers. There is a raised eaves band, and the rear of the barn mirrors the front's arrangement. The gable ends have scattered ventilation slits, and there are rectangular lifting doors with heavy, plain lintels. Inside, the barn contains two renewed queen-post trusses.
