Description

Hyde Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, substantially rebuilt and extended in the 18th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill, although parts have ground floor brick, a rendered first floor, and the remainder is painted 18th-century brick. The roof is thatched. The front of the house is composed of bays to the left from the 17th century, with a single-story bay originally of the 17th century, two 18th-century bays to the right, and a later bay added to the right-hand side. The ground floor features a plank door under a thatched hood on posts, located to the right of the two 18th-century bays. Beside this door is a four-pane sash window. An adjacent bay has a blocked door and a similar window. To the right is a tripartite sash window, and to the left a two-light casement. On the first floor are four-pane sashes, except for a two-light casement to the left. The roof is hipped, with ridge stacks at each end of the two 18th-century bays, and a stack at the left-hand end above the single-story bay.
