Description

This 18th-century milestone is located 450 metres south of the turning to High Coxlease on the A337 in Lyndhurst. It is made of painted stone and features a rectangular shape with a hipped top, set diagonally facing the road. Both front faces are inscribed with the distances: 'XI, MILES, TO, SOUTHAMPTON' on one side and 'VII, MILES, TO, LYMINGTON' on the other.
