Description
Hatchett Lodge is a lodge for Hale Park, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings and stucco decoration, topped with a slate roof. The building stands on a high plinth and is two bays wide and three bays deep, featuring a portico and steps at the front. The entrance faces the drive and has four steps leading up to a Greek Doric portico, which has rusticated columns with fluting at the base and cap. The portico is tetrastyle and includes full detailing. The central entrance is a half-glazed door flanked by 12-pane sash windows. There are three similar windows on the sides, all adorned with Pylon architraves. The sides of the lodge have a low parapet, and there is a central ridge stack. Inside, the lodge retains original features, including reeded chimney pieces.
