Description

The Old Post Office is a two-cottage dwelling, likely dating from the early 18th century, though more probably from the early 19th century, with later additions to the rear. The walls are rendered cob set upon a brick plinth, and the roof is thatched. The building is single-storied and consists of eight bays, four per original cottage. The right-hand half of the building remains largely unaltered, except for a 20th-century door that replaces the original in the second bay from the right end. There are three two-light casement windows beneath drip moulds. The left-hand half of the building has a door and window that have been replaced by a single-light window. The roof is hipped, with a central ridge stack and a stack on the right-hand hip.
