Description

The potash kiln, located to the west of Water Yeat Bridge, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed from stone rubble and features a shallow round shape that sits on sloping ground. The kiln has a rectangular fire hole, with the underside sloping downwards into a shallow bowl. This kiln is a rare example of a type that fell out of use around 1800.
