Description

Redscar Farmhouse, also known as Carruthers, is a farmhouse from the mid-19th century. It features roughcast rubble walls and a graduated slate roof with end chimney stacks, one of which is corbelled. The building has a cast iron ogee gutter and downpipe. It stands two storeys tall with an attic. The entrance includes a six-panelled door set in a timber gabled porch topped with a slate roof, and it has a moulded iron door knocker. There is one six-paned sash window on each side of the door and two six-paned sash windows on the first floor. Inside, the farmhouse has a reused 18th-century staircase and roof timbers.
