Description
Black Beck Lodge is a house that may date back to the 17th century, with significant alterations and extensions from the 19th century. The building is roughcast with a slate roof and consists of two storeys and six bays. The first two bays were originally a slaughterhouse. The windows are sash style, and the sixth bay features a canted bay window that is also sash with a single bar. The entrance has a half-glazed door and a gabled porch, which includes an elliptical arch and pointed side lights adorned with stained and etched glass. The first two bays have small-paned fixed glazing. The gutter is equipped with a snow stop and iron anthemions. There are two cross-axial stacks. On the right side, there is a two-storey canted bay window, with fixed glazing on the ground floor and sashes on the first floor. The rear of the house has an outshut. Black Beck Lodge is owned by the National Trust.
