Description

This is a gate, likely built in the early 20th century, for Beatrix Potter. It is made of wrought iron and features decorative ironwork. The gate is attached to dry stone walls, with a bee bole located in the wall to the west on the south side. It is situated opposite the entrance to Hill Top and is mentioned in 'The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck', published in 1908.
