Description
This building is a bank barn located approximately 30 meters south of Old Hall Farmhouse. It is likely from the 18th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The barn is constructed of stone rubble and has a slate roof.
The north elevation features a central gallery beneath a catslide roof, accessed by stone steps. To the left, there is a two-storey extension with gables on the returns, a lateral stack, and a lean-to outshut. To the right, a gabled wing includes an entrance with a moulded opening and an escutcheon on the lintel displaying entwined initials 'CWC' and the date 1713, along with flanking windows and an upper loading door. The gallery has paired doors with pivot hinges and pegs at the rear.
On the left return, there are paired doors leading to the rear outshut, three cow-house doors, two inserted windows, and a projecting gabled wing with an entrance and window on each floor. The rear features an outshut beneath a catslide roof and paired barn doors leading up the bank, with windows and an entrance to the lower level on the right. The roof is supported by two collar and tie beam trusses and four 20th-century steel trusses.
