Description
The Old Cottage and Steenkot are two houses that date from the late 17th century or 18th century, with a later addition. They are constructed of roughcast stone and rubble, topped with a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of four bays, with the first bay designated as The Old Cottage. Most windows feature small-paned fixed glazing with opening upper parts, some of which are pivoted. However, the first bay on the first floor has a sashed window with vertical glazing bars and horns. The entrances are adorned with open slate slab porches, and the entrance to the first bay includes a wide-boarded door. Gable-end stacks are present. The rear of the buildings is similar in appearance, with a stone rubble outbuilding extending to the left. The right side has a round projection, likely an oven, and three windows to the right, one of which was probably originally a door. The outbuilding features an entrance and two openings with timber lintels.
