Description

A farmhouse and adjoining barns, likely dating to 1719, as evidenced by an inscription on a rear extension: "THIS BUILDING'S AGE, THESE LETTERS SHOW, MDCCXIX, THOUGH MANY GAZE, YET FEW WILL KNOW." The farmhouse has whitewashed rendered walls, while the barns are of mixed rubble construction. All are under graduated greenslate roofs with stone, rendered, and 20th-century brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys, with three bays forming the main farmhouse, and a barn to the right under a common roof. A lower barn is situated to the left, and a rear extension to the house creates an overall T-shape. A 19th-century porch stands over the former entrance at the extreme right. The farmhouse windows are 2-light flat stone-mullioned, and an upper left window is a sash. The barns have blank front walls with plank doors at the rear. A mounting block is located at the rear of the left barn. A 20th-century corrugated iron extension to the right barn is not considered to be of significance.
