Description
The Corner Shop is a late 18th-century shop located on Main Street in Hawkshead. The building is roughcast with a slate roof and stands three storeys tall, featuring three bays, with the third bay being lower than the others. The ground floor includes a 19th-century shop window with an entrance, characterized by thick chamfered mullions and transoms, and is topped with a bracketed lead-clad canopy. The third bay has a small-paned casement window. The first and second floors are adorned with sash windows that have glazing bars, while the windows in the third bay are casements. There are gable-end stacks on the first and second bays. The right side of the building facing Main Street has an entrance and two-light casement windows. The property is owned by the National Trust.
