Description

The property comprises four houses, likely dating from the 17th century. The construction is roughcast, with a slate roof. The building presents five irregular bays to Main Street. The first bay features a single small window on the ground floor, while the fifth bay has no windows. The second bay contains a three-light casement with a dripcourse above. The third and fourth bays have small-paned fixed glazing, with the third bay's window protected by plain iron rails. The first floor windows are casements, with the third bay's window featuring leaded glazing. There is a cross-axial stack, and a lateral stack to the first bay.

The north facade, facing Victoria Street, also has five bays, with the first two bays set beneath a gable. The ground floor of the first bay has a small light, and the second bay a three-light wood mullioned window. Bays three has three stair windows with wood cross-mullioned frames containing some intermediate bars. The sixth bay has small-paned fixed glazing with opening lights and an iron rail. The first floor includes a casement to the second bay, a three-light wood mullioned window with a transom to the fourth bay, and a sash window with glazing bars to the fifth bay. A segmental-headed entrance to the fourth bay features a studded door with latch and wooden handle. The building has two gable-end stacks and a cross-axial stack to the hipped right-hand end.

The east facade, two bays wide, shows the first floor of the first bay recessed over weathering. The ground floor of the first bay has a casement window with small panes, and a further small light to the right. An entrance is located in the second bay. The rear courtyard has casement windows. A raking half-dormer to the first floor is visible to the west, along with an entrance to No.1. To the north, the ground floor has a small-paned fixed glazing with opening light and a 12-pane window to the left of a mullion, possibly a fire window. An entrance is situated to the right, featuring a lean-to canopy and a part-glazed six-panel door. At the east side of the courtyard is the Brown Cow Laithe, which is likely a converted outbuilding. Inside No.2, a fielded-panelled wood partition can be found.
