Description
Low Yewdale Farmhouse and Cottage consists of two houses dating from the 17th century, with a later addition. The building is constructed of painted stone rubble and features a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has five bays, with the first two bays being part of the later addition. A slate drip course runs along the ground floor. The windows are 20th-century casements, with the end windows being fire windows. There are entrances located in the first and third bays, with the entrance in the third bay featuring a slate gabled canopy. The building has gable-end stacks and a cross-axial stack. The interior is said to contain 17th-century panelling. This property is included for its group value and is owned by The National Trust, having been a gift from Beatrix Potter.
