Description

High Side is a farmhouse and barn dating to the 18th century, with a farmhouse dated 1771 and a barn dated 1747. The farmhouse is of painted incised stucco with a green slate roof and brick chimney stacks. The barn is of whitewashed slate rubble with a green slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with three bays and a lower adjoining barn to the left. It has a panelled door and sash windows with glazing bars set in painted stone surrounds. The barn has plank doors and a large cart doorway at the rear. Inside the farmhouse, there is a blocked inglenook with a partly-concealed spice cupboard. The staircase features a closed string and turned balusters.
