Description

This is a cottage dating back to the 16th century, with later additions from the 17th century. It is built with rubble walls rendered over, and has a thatched roof with external stone stacks at each gable end. The building is in an L-shape, originally comprising two rooms and a cross passage with a wing at the rear. It is one and a half storeys high and has four bays. The windows are late 19th-century casements, with some 2-light dormers situated below the eaves. The ground floor has a 3-light casement window on the left, a small glazed opening to the left of the entrance, and 2-light casements flanking a plank door with a thatched pentice porch. Inside, there is a studwork and plank screen in the cross passage to the left, and three pairs of exposed jointed cruck trusses.
