Description
This building is a stable and barn located about 10 metres north of Leigh Barton Farmhouse, likely dating from the 18th century. It is constructed from partially rendered red sandstone rubble and features a half-hipped slate roof. The structure has two storeys and includes an unglazed two-light mullioned opening with shutters on the first floor, a central opening flanked by two doorways on the ground floor, and an oval unglazed opening above. There is a plank door on the right end bay that provides access to the loft, with a loft opening on the first floor right return. The main feature of the building is its substantial collar beam king post roof, which has been reinforced with attached principals and spans approximately eight bays. At the time of the survey in January 1984, the building was noted to be in poor condition.
