Description
The Vicarage and adjoining outbuildings are a late 18th to early 19th century structure located in Brompton Regis Village. The vicarage is roughcast over rubble with a slate-hung basement, and the outbuildings feature slate roofs and overhanging eaves. Brick stacks rise at the gable ends from either side of the roof ridge, while the outbuildings have corrugated asbestos sheeting. The house is a double pile design facing southeast, with an L-shaped range of outbuildings attached at the northeast corner. It stands two storeys plus an attic and basement, with three bays and 12-pane sash windows. The central entrance is approached by a flight of steps and features a Doric doorcase with plain pilasters, a tryglyph frieze, and a four-panel door with panelled reveals and a rectangular light above. The basement is lit by two-light windows. The left return has two windows irregularly inserted in the apex of the gable, and the right return features a former loft over a shelter shed that links to a former loft over the stables and coach house, now with 20th-century openings. The outbuildings are included primarily for their group value with the house.
