Seaview Villa

Seaview Villa is a house, now functioning as a hotel, dating from the early 19th century. It is one of a pair of buildings located on the slopes of Summerhouse Hill in Lynmouth. The exterior features rubble construction with a rendered front and some slate hanging. The building has a symmetrical plain front and a central staircase plan, rising three storeys with a three-window facade. The windows are all sash types, with a 9-pane window above a 15-pane window, and a 16-pane window on the ground floor. The central entrance consists of a panelled door beneath a plain fanlight, set within deep reveals and topped by an elliptical arch, approached by slate steps. The rear wall includes a 12-pane window at eaves level and a stair sash, both framed in brick dressings. The left gable features a small light for the attic space and a 12-pane sash window. The building has gable stacks. The interior is not accessible for viewing.
