Description

Bossington Methodist Church is an early 20th-century Methodist church constructed from red sandstone random rubble, with blue glazed bricks used for the quoins and string course. The vestry features red sandstone quoins and a plain clay tile catslide roof below a gablet at the east end. A circular chimney pot made of banded blue glazed brick and random rubble is set on a square plinth with quoins at the southeast corner. The church has a single cell with a vestry at the liturgical east end, a north porch, and a bellcote on the roof ridge above the porch, all designed in the Arts and Crafts style.

The single-storey gabled porch includes a two-bay arcade that is timber framed and rests on a string course, with raking buttresses below. The entry is located at the re-entrant angle and features inner double plank doors with a side light. Above the string course, there are continuous leaded lights, and two full-height angled raking buttresses flank the porch. A small square light is positioned to the left, and the roof sweeps down over the projecting vestry, which has a single light.

On the east gable end, there are three trefoil-headed lights in the gablet, with a plank door to the left and a two-light window to the right. The south front has similar glazing and raking buttresses. At the roof ridge, there is a tiled pyramid bell-cast roofed bellcote set on a tiled plinth. The interior has not been seen, but the building is described as lively.
