Description
The barn and round house at West Lynch Farm Park is a structure that includes a barn and a horse engine house, now serving as a museum and shop. The barn dates from the 18th century, possibly earlier, while the horse engine house was built in the late 18th to early 19th century and has been altered in the late 20th century. The buildings are constructed from local stone in random rubble style and feature thatched roofs, with the barn having a half-hipped roof and a double Roman tiled roof addition on the northeast side. The barn has a plan consisting of eight bays, with the horse engine house attached to the southwest side and a lean-to addition on the northeast. There are double doors at the northern end with projecting porches. The barn has a scissor truss roof, and the horse engine house was reroofed in the late 20th century.
