Description
NORTH BOVEY SX 78 SW 4/237 Road bridge over River Bovey east- - south-east of Fairbrook Cottage at grid ref. 740836

Road bridge over River Bovey. Probably C17 altered in C19. Granite rubble with dressed granite coping stones and chamfered dressed stones to original arch. Segmental voussoir dressed stone arch inserted underneath original arch. Curved top coping stones to parapets which are raised to a crank at the centre. On north-west side the parapets join widening abutment walls with roughly dressed coping stones on the south-west side and stones alternatively laid on edge and flat on the north-east side.
