Description

The road bridge over a small brook, a tributary of the River Bovey, dates from around the mid-19th century. It is constructed from granite rubble and features squared and chamfered coping stones along with a moulded string-course above a dressed voussoir arch. The coping stones return at each end of the cambered parapets. The bridge has a shallow segmental voussoir arch with a cambered string-course above it. Low granite rubble walls extend on either side of both parapets, with a large roughly dressed coping stone located approximately 5 meters to the southeast and northwest. These walls continue towards the adjoining bridge at grid reference 740836, and there is a refuge for pedestrians about one-third of the way along on the southwest side.
