Description

This building is a shippon, located about 5 metres south of Higher Venton Farmhouse, and it likely dates from the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed of granite rubble, although part of the front wall was rebuilt in the 20th century and rendered. The roof is covered with corrugated iron. The shippon is a single storey, with the east end lofted. The interior has been remodelled using concrete, and it features 20th-century roof timbers. There is another shippon adjoining it on the west, which is listed separately. This building is included for its group value.
