Description
Underhill Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from around the 17th century or earlier, with an early 19th-century extension. The original 17th-century house is a wing to the west, constructed from colour-crashed stone rubble and topped with an asbestos slate roof featuring heightened eaves. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with 19th-century three-light casements that include glazing bars. To the right, there is a doorway with a plank door, a chamfered wooden lintel, and a slated lean-to porch supported by stone jambs. Rendered chimney stacks are located at the gabled ends. The early 19th-century addition on the right, which faces east, has a hipped roof with deep eaves and is also made of stone rubble. This section is two storeys high and has three bays, featuring sashes with glazing bars and segmental brick arches. The central panelled door has a semicircular fanlight above it, and there is a late 19th or early 20th-century glazed porch.
