Description

Splatton is a late 19th-century house located in South Brent. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof with gabled ends. The right-hand side of the building is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical façade, with four windows on the ground floor that have marginal glazing bars, and two first-floor windows, also with marginal glazing bars, featuring round-headed lights. These windows are set within small gables that have elliptical granite arches, ornate barge boards, and finials. The first-floor windows are complemented by small iron balconies. The house has end chimney stacks with pairs of hexagonal brick shafts. The left-hand side has lower two-storey ranges, with the first floor slate-hung and small wooden oriels on brackets, showcasing round-headed casements with glazing bars. At the centre, there is a gabled porch adorned with ornate bargeboards and a four-centred brick arch.
