Description
Lydia Bridge is a road bridge over the River Avon, dating from the 17th or 18th century. It features a humpback design and has been widened on the upstream side. The bridge is constructed of stone rubble and has a single round arch. Large stone slabs form a string course, with parapets above that are capped with large granite coping stones. In 1669, Lydia Bridge was noted to be in decay, and the current structure may either be a restoration of an earlier bridge or a complete rebuilding from the late 17th or 18th century.
